A North Platte group seeks local participation in a 100 room Holiday Inn at the northeast quadrant of the West Sidney Interchange. Plans show an enclosed pool and potential for 50 extra rooms. The project awaits additional investors and public viewing at Panhandle Growth Inc. 917 10th Ave.

Thunderstorms Hit Northeast Nebraska Elkhorn River Basin

Thunderstorms moved through northeast Nebraska in the Elkhorn River Basin leaving swollen creeks and tributaries, some reported overflowing by the National Weather Service. The main Elkhorn main stem could absorb the runoff with no trouble. more storms hit central Nebraska during the night with a risk of severe storms in extreme southeastern Nebraska tonight.

Chamber plans new I 80 sign to supplement state markets

Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce plans an east side sign along I 80 to tell travelers Sidney has two exits. Ed Cole notes westbound and eastbound signage rules differ and outlines the state plans for three permanent signs west of Sidney while the chamber designs a horizontal red sign east of town. Wheat receipts to fall despite record crop estimates

Washington reports USDA projections show 1975 wheat sales may total about 6.3 billion dollars as the bumper crop of nearly 22 billion bushels yields an average price around 2.50 to 3.25 dollars a bushel.
