Lease Fund Split Is Out From State Land Board
The Board of Educational Lands and Funds has dropped the half of the consideration rule on school land lease transfers. Assistant Attorney General Robert Nelson says the board ended this after a hearing led by Paul White in the Kruser estate transfer to Patty Ann Parks. Since a 1947 act, the state earned half on assigned leases. the 1951 Supreme Court ruling on automatic renewals prompted this change as the board winds up auctions of 2,300 renewed leases with bonuses near four and a quarter million dollars.
