Dr Maher to be Honored at Optometry Banquet in Denver

Dr M J Maher of Sidney will receive a charter member certificate from the Optometric Extension Program during a banquet at the Albany Hotel in Denver July 27 29. Dr Carl D Marsden chairman notes Maher is in an exclusive forever closed group and history records the profession's progress. Maher practiced in Omaha before joining the program and has since resided in Sidney.

Hearings in County Court for KK Lam bert and Fred Darling

Court morning session saw KK Lambert and Fred Darling both of Sidney plead guilty to co habitation. Judge W Smith bound them over to District Court for trial with bonds of 300 each and custody of the sheriff until posting. Wilburn Wilson Callan and Daniel Delcamp charged as minors in possession of liquor. Lach found guilty and fined 25 dollars plus 4 dollars costs. John H Bolinger guilty of intoxication and fined 25 dollars with 5 dollars 25 cents costs. He remained in custody of the sheriff until payment.

Wheat Harvest Delayed by Severe Storms in Cheyenne County

A weekend storm across Cheyenne County dropped over two inches in some areas, halting the wheat harvest for at least a week. Hail damaged crops in parts of Potter and Sidney, with winds up to fifty mph causing property losses. Injury Damages In City Crashes Involving Sidney Residents

Rose Hardware Potter Robbery Report

Sheriff reports a youth admitted entering the Rose Hardware store in Potter stealing a rifle, a pellet gun, and ammo. He broke a rear window to gain entry, got muddy, later swapped the rifle, and was found with the mud encrusted gun. He is held at a private home awaiting charges.

Man Breaks Leg In Fall At Jail

West Virginia man Orda Nickolas held on a drunkenness charge fell from a solitary confinement cage in the city jail. He broke his leg and was taken to Memorial Hospital around 9 p.m. Saturday after initially denying injury. Officer James Seifert reported the fall from about seven feet where he was sleeping.

Combine And Trailer Heavily Damaged In Highway 30 Crash

Deputy Brum baugh investigated an accident eight miles east of Sidney on Highway 30. A wide load from a truck driven by Ronald T Noyes collided with a house trailer parked on the shoulder. The combine suffered 3000 dollars in damage and the trailer 3000 dollars in value.
