About 60 percent of farmers in southern and eastern areas have finished clearing fields while Potter Sidney Dalton and Gurley neighbors hope for sun to dry the lush wheat. Elevators report excellent quality for grain already received though moisture and bleaching could lower grade. Projections vary. some north Lodgepole tables expect 35 to 40 bushels per acre, south Lodgepole 20 to 25 bushels per acre No 2 wheat after hail last year. Trade observers remain hopeful for a six million bushel county total if weather cooperates.
