Leroy Martin, respected Sid ney jurist and longtime educator, died last Tuesday at 2:00 AM after an eight month illness. Born January 23, 1853 in Indiana, he practiced law in Marion, Iowa, then moved to Sid ney, Nebras ka, where he served as County Attorney, County Judge, and a long-time Board of Education member. He is survived by wife, two sons, two daughters, a sister, and a brother. Funeral held at home with Methodist minister and choir. interment planned in Marion, Iowa.

Arrest Of Arnold Kiery On Registration Charge
Arnold Kiery aged 26 was arrested by Sheriff Litton Tuesday charged with willfully failing to register under the May 1917 act. He lacked a registration card and claimed ignorance of the law. Before United States Commissioner Oberfelder he was bound over to the Federal court in 500 dollars bond to await the grand jury. He will be confined in North Platte jail. His parents live in Cokato Minnesota, but he has no home and is described as belonging to bum society.

Otto Nielson Dies Near Sidney At 69
Otto Nielson, aged sixty nine, died last Saturday twenty two miles southwest of Sidney and was buried Monday in the Danish cemetery in the nearby Danish community. He was a longtime resident of the area.
