Streamliner Strikes Truck at Sunol Crossing No Injuries
Bill Gade, 61, of Sunol, escaped unharmed when his 1941 pickup was struck by a speeding City of Los Angeles streamliner at Sunol crossing at 7:35 am. The truck, carrying gravel, was demolished. Gade halted and backed up after seeing the train. The impact bent the front end 90 degrees. the truck ended facing west, weight in back keeping it from moving. Gade was shaken but uninjured.
