The Sidney business district undergoes major remodeling this summer with E A Winter’s purchase at Tenth Ave and Jackson St. improving space for doctors on ground level and rental basement. Stage Plays to Be Presented at Fox Sidney
Fox Intermountain Theatres will present a Thursday stage series at the Fox Theatre in Sidney beginning July 17 featuring University of Denver drama students under the university school of theatre. Pinocchio opens with later plays Cinderella Ghost of Mr Penny and more. Matinees start at two with selected movie shorts to follow. Prices are 35 cents for children and 50 cents for adults. The venture is non profit aimed at wholesome community entertainment between school terms. Frank Rickerson III leads the series with touring to several western cities. No theatre or staff charges.

City to take over all garbage hauling in two shifts
The city council street committee and mayor crafted a plan to assume full garbage and trash hauling with a two shift, sixteen hour per day schedule. Ralph Hill Applies for U P Retirement
Ralph T. Hill, 55, of Sidney, a Union Pacific signalman, has filed for annuity under the Railroad Retirement Act. Announcement was made at the Orsha headquarters by A. E. Stoddard. Hill joined UP in 1916 as a signal maintainer at Pine Bluffs and, after WWI service, worked in Colorado and Wyoming before transfer to Sidney in 1931.
