Treasurer Shoemaker reported receipts of 88500 from taxes plus other items, warrants issued 30420 33, outstanding 3425, and cash on hand 122 29. Directors certified 12000 needed for coming year. The Forbes Greene Construction Co contract was reviewed, with plans for new cement walks around the yard and improved access paths to the building.

Village Board on June 26 approved buying a 830 by 132 foot corner lot at First and Myrtle, west of the opera house, from M. H. Tobin for 700. Also purchased lots 6,7,12,13 in Haskell’s addition atop the bluffs for a water works reservoir. The village deeds block 21 to Tobin and may erect a temporary fire apparatus building on the rear of the lot. A city well site may be placed there if water safety is ensured.
