A Cheyenne company bought The Sidney Ideal Stone Co. and will operate it under the same name. Charles Crouse, long associated with The Powers Brick and Tile Co. in Cheyenne, will manage the business in Sidney. Former manager Alva Speer is replaced. expansion plans include masonry building supplies but not ready mix products.

Band Clinic Set At Peetz School For League Event

The Lower Platte Valley League Band Clinic will be hosted at Peetz School on Saturday February 8. About 300 junior and senior high students are expected to participate in the all day event. A public concert is planned at 7 30 p.m. Band parents will serve meals to all students.

Boeing Gets 30 Million for Minuteman Work at Warren

The Defense Department released 30,479,340 to Boeing Co for starting assembly and checkout of Minuteman missiles at Warren Air Force Base. Boeing will install and test 200 missiles in the Warren complex. Morrison-Knudsen Co of Boise, Idaho, is building silos at 200 sites in southeastern Wyoming, northern Colorado and western Nebraska under an 80 million dollar contract.

Driver Hurt When Pickup Goes Off Road Near Sidney

Mrs. Henry Geu of Sidney was injured at 3 30 pm Wednesday when her pickup left a county road nine miles east and five north of Sidney. She was hospitalized for a cut lip and multiple bruises. The truck damaged a culvert in the ditch with about 150 dollars in damage. Trooper Del Shipley of the Highway Safety Patrol investigated.

Wheat program would raise domestic price to $2 a bushel

President Johnson backs a new wheat plan, with a House sub committee approved bill. It would be voluntary for farmers, offer marketing certificates worth 70 cents per bushel for domestic use, and set a $1.30 per bushel price support. Cooperating farmers could earn at least $2 a bushel on the domestic share, while export certificates add 25 cents. The bill shifts costs to mills, exporters, and consumers, aiming to stabilize prices without government burden.
