A 14 room stone house on the St George Ranch near Sidney Nebraska was gutted by a Tuesday blaze driven by near gale winds. Firemen from Sidney and Lodgepole saved surrounding buildings using water from Lodgepole Creek and Halliburton pump trucks. Loss estimated around 30 000 with insurance at 12 000 for structure and 2 000 for contents. Damage attributed to defective attic wiring and strong NW winds.

Appeal Date Still Not Set For Griffith

Police Have Busy Week In Cheyenne County
Cheyenne County Attorney filed charges against two defendants, Mrs. Darlene Horner and Jack L. Lindley, for procuring liquor for minors after they were arrested at the VFW Club by Sidney police. Local businessmen will be tapped again next Monday for funds to supplement city allocations for the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department. The drive aims to complete in one day across four districts, to buy vital equipment and improve the fire alarm system.
