Loop Death In 2 Years Is Seen
Bill Putman Scottbluff football coach told the Bluffs that the Western Nebraska Athletic Conference as now constituted will fold up after two more years of operation. He said Sidney sportsmen favor reorganizing and noted Class B coaches are delighted with that view. He warned Scottsbluff may join a Big Ten Class A with larger schools and Wyoming and Colorado opponents. A Big Ten loop for Class B is being seriously considered to allow Sidney Mitchell Chadron and others a path to meet teams like Lexington Holdrege.

He said GM twice granted higher take home pay and living-cost adjusted salaries since 1941, but the UAW CIO refused as the cause changed.
