Frozen Foods Pop Up Menu
Frozen fruits should be used promptly after removal from storage and thawed only as needed. Keep packaging sealed, refreezing is discouraged, and proper thawing times vary by method. Meat alternatives and careful cooking at low temperatures help preserve flavor and extend available supplies.

Spud Rot Control Urged for Nebraska Seed Potatoes
Western Nebraska potato growers face potential heavy seed potato losses if a wet spring creates favorable conditions for rot. The Potato Development Division warns that damp cellar leaks and rising temperatures can accelerate leak and pink rot, and urges growers to keep seed dry, ventilate, inspect regularly, and avoid selling subpar lots to protect future plantings. Ring rot may spread via bin boards, floors, and sacks.
