Seed Corn Shortage Report Expands In County
Seed corn survey cards continue to arrive at the Cheyenne county farm bureau as farmers reports are compiled. 113 cards returned show 26 need 239 bushels of seed while 52 have a surplus of 4750 bushels. The statewide survey will finish soon with county shows to follow. Central Nebraska farmers will attend a seed corn show at Gibbn on February 4 with 30000 bushels of irrigated seed corn on display.

Man Sentenced for Burglary at Porter Oil Station
Richard C. Meyers was sentenced to nine months to a year in the men’s reformatory after pleading guilty to a burglary at the Porter Oil filling station in Potter on January 3. Judge J. L. Tewell pronounced the sentence. Meyers had been released on a $500 bond after pleading guilty in county court. Accident Victim E. E. Layton Returns Home
Sidney oil man E. E. Layton who was badly hurt in a Grand Island auto crash weeks ago has returned home after three weeks in Grand Island hospital and three weeks in a Kansas City hospital. Doctors initially feared for his life but he survived a courageous battle despite grave injuries. The crash also killed a transient from Illinois riding with Layton.
