Practice Debate Draws Large Field At Sidney Saturday
A district practice debate tournament will be held at Sidney High School on Saturday drawing invitations to 19 high schools with expected attendance over 100. Debaters compete in classes A and B with one judge per four debaters, registration at 9 30 a m, rounds begin 10 a m luncheon at noon second round 2 p m third round 3 p m and a general meeting at 5 p m The topic is government ownership of electric power and distributing companies Scottsbluff plans 18 debaters Alliance at least ten others six to ten from remaining schools. John Livingston Dies in Lodge Pole Funeral Held
John M. Livingston of Lodge Pole died last week. Funeral services were at Lodge Pole Methodist Church with Rev. Vincent Beebe officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant View Cemetery. Born October 12, 1851 in Scotland, he came to America at 21 and moved to Cheyenne County in 1911. Survived by widow, three daughters Mrs. George Hawthorne of Trumbull, Mrs. H. W. Anderson of Glendale, California, and Mrs. Sam Stahmecker of Gillmer. three sons William of Edison, Earl of Fort Worth, Texas, and James of Sidney. 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
