Four new members join the Sidney Juvenile Band bringing total to 27 as the group grows. The Sidney Military Band now has a full drum outfit and will add two more members soon. A Crystal Theater dance followed the Wednesday picture show with 50 cent admission and ladies free.
F. L. Doty is a victim of la grippe. Dr. and Mrs. Frazey are both down with quinsy. Mrs. Ragan is confined to bed with lagrippe complications. James Haselwood departs for Lincoln for a combined business and pleasure trip to visit his children. Dr. and Mrs. James Britton spent part of Wednesday in Sidney with relatives on their way home to Chicago from California.
Miss Morrison visits country schools and fills in for Miss Mac Millan at Sidney High until Miss Murray arrives. Rupert Campbell recovers from a near pneumonia miss and is out of danger. Sidney receives 2 to 3 inches of snowfall on Friday night January 20 aiding the soil.

Each firm gets one vote. no committees. aims include better fellowship, fairs, lectures on farming and land improvement, and promoting Cheyenne County without raising land prices. May this effort boost Sidney and Cheyenne County.
A new season musical comedy titled The Candy Girl headlines at Tobin Opera House on Thursday February 2. The show features 18 updated musical hits sung by 12 chorus girls with varied costumes and new electrical effects for each act. Tickets are 1.00, 0.75 and 0.50 with reserved seats on sale Monday via Sidney Mercantile Co.

RAILROAD NOTES recounts U P through trains resuming as business picks up. U P officials Evert Foster and L D Carroll travel between North Platte and Sidney while William P Brosman plans to move into the Lou Garey house. A near-miss for freight brakeman Joe Frederici and a serendipitous serenade at the sand house conclude the brief item.
A joint installation of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Royal Neighbors took place on the evening of the 20th. J W Harper served as installing officer for the MWA and Mrs Nellie Tucker for the RNA. An oyster supper at the Vienna followed the ceremony, closing the event.
Alexander Elston born October 14 1848 in Brooksburg Indiana served in Company H 10th Indiana Cavalry for about four years. He married Elizabeth Dixon and later Elizabeth Hopkins. six children born, four and three living respectively. He moved to Cheyenne County then homesteaded near Sidney. He died Monday at Hastings Asylum after a long ordeal including missteps by railway and hospital authorities. He rests under the flag.
Albert J. Hadley and Elizabeth Brachtenbach of Sidney were joined in marriage by Judge Gapen at his office on Saturday January 21.
George Iverson of Dalton and Mildred Veith of Hastings tied the knot on Monday June 28 at Judge Gapen's office. Witness C A Veith, brother of the bride, attended as a witness.
George A Hubbell and Mrs Nettie Wolf both of Denver were married by Judge Gapen at his office on Wednesday January 25.
County Judge Gapen married Samuel J. Hale and Mies Gertrude Aagesen of Greeley Colorado on Thursday. The newlyweds will reside in Greeley and begin their life together as husband and wife.
Tailor Adolf Swenson now operates from the front basement of the Gapen Building and directs patrons to take the front stairway.
