The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department hosted its second annual banquet at the Country Club with about one hundred firemen and their wives attending despite illness cancellations. President Jack Hutchison acted as toastmaster. Mayor Jack H. Lowe gave the principal talk. JoAnn Shearman sang two numbers with Mrs. J. W. Johnson on piano. Dancing followed the dinner.

Three Ag Meetings Set For Panhandle

Robert Cape of Dalton and Peter Bourlier of Kimball were reelected to three year terms on the board with Cape also named president. Victor Chambers of Sidney thanks the March of Dimes for help after his two year old daughter Donna contracted polio on Septem ber 15 last year. Donna Jean uses braces but is improving slowly. Chambers praises the fund for medical care over seventeen months and notes many children receive treatment in Denver. He hopes Donna will be grateful in years to come.
