Interstate bids open on 3.7 million Lincoln roads project
State Department of Roads opened bids on an estimated 3.7 million dollar package including 7.9 miles of interstate paving and 10 bridges between North Platte and Platte River. Projects are funded by 3.105 million in federal interstate aid, 115 thousand in federal secondary funds, 52 thousand from county funds and 428 thousand from state construction funds.

Wheat Show Set for Alliance in October 1965

Girl Crushed By Pumping Unit Near Harrisburg
In Banner County near Harrisburg a 3-year-old girl, Jennifer Lou Ferguson, died Thursday afternoon when she was crushed by the heavy counter-weight of an oil well pumping unit. The child, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jay Leinweber, lived about 100 feet from the site. authorities say she crawled through a fence gap. The unit’s revolving counterweight struck her at the bottom of a revolution. The body was moved to Boley Dennis Funeral Home in Gering.
