Events include family dinners, medical trips, business trips, bee conventions, and a stock show in Denver with multiple households hosting, traveling, and socializing.
Colonel and Mrs H E Hopping spent a few days in Denver last week. Officers Club wives held their regular gathering on Wednesday. Mesdames Walkit McCarthy acted as hostesses. The Sodamsels will meet Tuesday January 20 at 7 in the Rec Hall Ordville. A program has been planned and a good attendance is hoped. Major and Mrs Edward B Fonds spent some time in Denver last.
Rev. Donald Littrell of Denver is named pastor at Gurley Methodist Church and will serve as associate pastor with Rev. Walter L. Jewett of Sidney. Littrell, a recent graduate of the Tiff School of Theology in Denver, and his wife moved to Gurley this week after a short visit at the Jewett home in Sidney.
A Red Cross meeting is set for tonight at 7 30 in the city council room at the City Auditorium. Mrs F A Bush chair of the Cheyenne County chapter says the session will cover organization activities and plans for the year. IDEAL INCOME TAX RECORD AND BOOKKEEPING FORMS are advertised nearby.
A divorce petition was filed in the district court on January 16 by Pearl L Gran seeking an absolute divorce and restoration of her maiden name Pearl L Fairchild. The defendant waived summons and service and is a U S A F member who waived rights under the Selective Service Act. The Grannells married April 13 1945 at St Francis Kansas. Copies of the New Cheyenne County Directory are on sale at The Telegraph for $1 each with limited extra copies.
Farmers from the southwestern Panhandle will learn the latest answers to farm problems at the Western Organized Agriculture meeting in Kimball February 12. The all day program at Kimball County Courthouse features Dr G W Alford secretary of a state hog cholera plant, Imer Starch Great Plains Council secretary, Jess Livngston plant pathology researcher, Mabel Doremus extension author, with Emiel J Christensen architect of Columbus Neb Nebraska guest speaker at the banquet.
