The Chamber of Commerce launches a five day membership drive starting Monday with a kickoff breakfast at Hazel's Cafe. Twelve teams of two target 400 new members and a $15 000 goal. Basin oil area to produce 400000 barrels daily in 1953
Petroleum Information predicts the Rocky Mountain region including the Julesburg Basin will average 400000 barrels per day in 1953. Z. H. Castleberry, 28, a fugitive wanted in at least four states, is hospitalized in the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln for wounds from a gun battle with Colorado authorities.
