Dalton Co-Op Considers 250000 Bushel Storage Addition

Dalton officials call a special meeting for January 17 at 1 PM in the Dalton Legion Hall to decide whether to add 250000 bushels of storage by building a new elevator or by adding concrete bins beside the existing elevator. North Platte First in State to Extend Zoning Beyond City Limits

North Platte this week became the first Nebraska city to use a state law allowing a city to enact zoning control one mile outside its limits. Sidney officials have discussed a similar ordinance, with a draft already prepared. Tree Seedling Program Seeks Applications for Spring Planting

Applications are invited at the Soil Conservation Service office for spring tree plantings. County oil and water conservation districts offer planting service on request. Prices run about four dollars per hundred broadleaf and eight dollars per hundred conifers. ACP cost sharing may be approved at six dollars per hundred for inter planted trees under good forestry practices. Order deadline is March 20.

The Soil Conservation Service presents a seed mixture to cover idle land with grass. The blend includes intermediate tall crested and western wheatgrasses and would cost about $1 per acre above ACP payments. Sidney Country Club elects Perratt as president

Hollis Peratt of Sidney, a Sidney retailer, was elected president of the Sidney Country Club at the annual stockholders meeting Wednesday night. He succeeds Walter Closman and is noted as one of the club's crack golfers. Dr L S O Halloran was named vice president and new directors include Dr C B Dorwart D W Jorgensqgn Mrs Earle Winter and Mrs Robert Clark Ed Swanson was named secretary treasurer. The addition of Mrs Winter and Mrs Clark marks the first time women have served on the board. Discussions of by law changes were held with no action taken.

Ohio Oil Starts 1958 Drilling With Ruhter Well At Ruhter No 1

Ohio Oil Co plans to resume drilling in the Sidney area within a week or ten days. A rig will be set for No 1 Ruhter just across the Colorado line, offsetting No 1 Elenz which is producing 70 to 80 barrels daily. Nebraska output holds around 55,500 barrels daily as week averages.

Mrs Elic Henderson 71 a longtime Sidney resident died at home after a long illness. Funeral services set for Monday at 3 pm at First Methodist Church with Rev. Accident Scene Near Sidney Ends With Safe Driver
