Cheyenne County Sheriff W. W. Schulz filed an expense claim for 111.25 for delivering ballots to the statehouse in the contested gubernatorial election. Kirk Sentenced for Parole Violation in Lincoln Reformatory
Jack Kirk, 17, of Memphis Tennessee, was sentenced by District Judge I J Nisley in Cheyenne County District Court to not less than 18 months and not more than two years in the men's reformatory at Lincoln for violating parole. He had been on five year parole in Sidney since August on a concealed weapon charge after shooting former Sidney teacher Roy Oak. He was returned to Sidney in December facing parole violation charges after Memphis authorities charged him with nine counts of burglary seven counts of larceny and one count of arson. Kirk waived counsel and pleaded guilty to the parole violation. The maximum penalty for a juvenile on a concealed weapons charge is two years.
