Legislature Opens Amid Power Shifts In 49 Member Session
The 1967 session of the Nebraska Legislature convenes at noon Tuesday with high stakes for leadership as the fight for speaker and other officers begins. The 49 member unicameral body marks a new era under federal court jurisdiction and one man one vote rules, with districts redrawn since 1963. The Omaha delegation shows signs of urban rural splits, while county boundaries may or may not guide district lines depending on population.
