Glen Bales Dies Former County Commissioner
Glen Bales 69 a longtime Cheyenne County figure in farmers union circles died Wednesday after a three week illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at two from First Methodist Church with Dr Benjamin F Schwartz officiating. Interment at Sidney cemetery. Craig Mortuary in charge. He helped found a fiftieth wedding anniversary observance scheduled for December 14. Survived by wife five children one sister one brother and numerous grandchildren. Born August 31 1883 in Atlantic Iowa he moved to Sidney in 1912 and to Bunker Hill before joining Farmers Union Co Op. He retired in 1948 from the gas and oil firm.
