Jailbreakers Sentenced in Cheyenne County Hearings
Three Cheyenne County jailbreakers faced prison terms ranging from seven to 13 years in district court before Judge I J Nisley. J W Mosley 18 of Los Angeles received three years for jailbreaking and four years for robbery by violence plus a prior auto theft sentence. Bill Meile 23 of Greeley Colorado drew three years for breaking jail and four years for robbery by violence along with up to six years for forgery and a forged instrument charge and a two year minimum for a reformatory term. Thomas Berry 23 of Bridgeport drew three years for jailbreaking and six years for robbery by violence with an additional prior forgery sentence. All terms run consecutively and are to be served in the Reformatory and Penitentiary.

The winter wheat outlook is very optimistic after recent rain and snow, with the Panhandle faring relatively dry yet wheat holding up well. Moisture improves pasture and alfalfa, aids spring field work, and some counties report wheat greening. Livestock demand remains strong, calves selling 50 to 70 dollars, dairy stock and bred sows in demand, corn allotments may boost grass seeding and cattle expansion. Prof Oscar Syders director of Midland College A Cappella Choir Fremont Nebr will give a concert at Sidney City Auditorium on Sunday March 5 at 8 pm under the Dorcas Society of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He is a pioneer of the A Cappella style and has directed more than 400 concerts since joining Midland College in 1928. Previously at Waldorf College Iowa he organized the second unaccompanied college choir in the United States.
