Teenage Boys Arrested In Stolen Car
Five teenage boys attracted attention by trying to sell a radio from a car they were driving in Sidney Monday. They were held at the police station after failing to prove car ownership. The suspects, Alfred Broberg 18 of Chadron and Smith Whitman 16 of Denver, were identified. Chadron police confirmed the car was stolen and took custody Tuesday, returning the pair to Chadron.

C of C Rejects Endorsement of TV Fund Raising Plan
The Sidney Chamber of Commerce will not endorse stock sales or fund solicitations for a proposed TV station serving northeastern Colorado and southern Nebraska Panhandle. The board agreed it should not sponsor meetings for any entity seeking funds or stock for TV reception in the area. A damaging blaze in Iliff Colorado destroyed the DeSoto Grocery Store the Stoddard Garage and Cliff Liquor store fronting US 138. Gurley Man Escapes Injury In Accident

Wind-Whipped Fire Destroys Station at noon blaze
A two alarm blaze at Ernie's Truck Stop and West Side Cafeteria on the west edge of Sidney destroyed the service station and restaurant. Ernie Schadegg, the operator, said he was alone in the station when the fire began in the greaser room. Cecil Tremain operated the restaurant serving a noon crowd as flames and smoke drew a near record onlookers. The property, owned by R. W. Porter, suffered loss of tires, oil, stock, and equipment. Firefighters from three units battled the blaze, aided by the city power department line truck and Nebraska Safety Patrol traffic duty. Fire officials suspect a failure near an air compressor as a possible cause.

Former Sidneyite Dies In Eastern Hospital
Mrs. Dean Higgins, 77, a former Sidney resident, died yesterday in a Brookhaven Mississippi hospital where she had been a patient after a stroke two weeks earlier. She and her husband Mr Higgins lived in Sidney for about seven years before moving to Brookhaven last fall. Funeral services were held there today.
