Preble man dies in two car crash near Sidney
The 30 year old Preble man was killed when his southeast bound car collided with a westbound pickup driven by Clarence Hare at a Sidney intersection. Preble suffered a skull fracture. his wife suffered shock and bruises. Hare had minor injuries. Police will continue investigation though no charges expected. Funeral services were held at the Sidney Methodist Church and burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Preble, born Newer 22 1921, had been in the Coast Guard and ran Prebles Grocery with his brother Ferris.

Twenty registered nurses attended the meeting of District 7 Nebraska State Nurses Association in North Platte on Wednesday. Miss Zelda L. Nelson, state association counselor and assistant executive director, was guest speaker. Delegates for the biennial convention were discussed and will be submitted to the Omaha executive committee for approval. Cheyenne County 4-H plans weeklong observance from March 2 to March 9 with displays in business houses and county agents Violet Shepherd and Tyan Liljegren guiding club activities. Last year 4-H enrolled 401 members in 34 clubs with 301 projects completed. statewide totals reach 21 561 members in 2 767 clubs and 28 357 projects. The program, tracing back to 1902, aims to develop leaders speakers and exhibitors, inviting new members and leaders to contact agents during the week.

No Weed Tax To Be Levied
No weed tax will be levied this year in Cheyenne County as the Noxious Weed District reports sufficient funds to cover annual activities. Oscar Olson and Wilfred Nelson were reelected to the five man board, with Nelson named chairman, Ray Cruise reelected secretary, and Lumir Studnicka named treasurer. Potter Youths Hurt As Car Crashes Into Dix Hall
Four Potter youths were injured when the car skidded on icy pavement and crashed into the IOOF hall in Dix. Harvey Woods 17 drove west on Highway 30 as the car crossed the highway and rammed the east end of the building. Darlene Woods 14 suffered a broken arm, John Gamble 17 broke a shoulder, Sharon Lipska 14 had head bruises, and Harvey Woods had a head gash. All were taken to Kimball County hospital and dismissed.
