Pioneer Moritz Urbach Dies After Long Sidney Stay
Moritz Urbach, a prominent Sidney and Cheyenne county businessman, died at home on Sunday February 20 1898 due to diabetes. Born in Hungary April 21 1843 he immigrated to New York marrying Hannah Monheimer in 1872 and later Mise Freudenburger in 1844. Survived by four children Sophia William Edward and Mources from first marriage and Leon Fasher from second, with many civic roles including county commissioner and school board. The Masons conducted funeral rites at his home, then burial at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Omaha after services at Temple Israel with Rabbi Leo Franklin officiating. The community extends condolences to the bereaved family.
