Largest cattle deal recalls palmy days in western Nebraska
One of the era’s major cattle sales closed this week as M A Daugherty sold his seven hundred head Hereford herd to Tinnin and Irvin of Texas for about 26 000 dollars. The herd began in 1886 with 400 Panhandle heifers and has since grown through steady improvement. The new owners plan to range the cattle in Sheridan County, Nebraska, near Ogalalla Argus.

A Brilliant Social Event of the McIntosh Card Party

Grand Sidney Band Dance Draws Crowded Feat of Music and Fun
A grand affair at the rink on Monday evening featured the Sidney Cornet Band delivering improved music to a delighted crowd. The dance opened with a grand march by John Bettendorf and Mayme McFadden, continued with regular dancing, and a late oyster supper by the Sons of Veterans. Receipts totaled about 245, with most proceeds cleared.
