The Colton Grain and Hardware Store reportedly lost about 15 dollars and cigarettes through an unlocked entry. Potters High School was found open by Jim Coulter and Ron Hagemeister who summoned help but found intruders gone with nothing missing. Gene Morris, Cheyenne County deputy, cited possible vandalism averted by the boys.

A Sidney family lost their three room home and all possessions when a kitchen fire started from varnish cleaning while Mr. P. SeWilliams slept. The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department fought the blaze, saving the structure only after the interior was charred.
