Snow Benefits Farm Outlook in Nebraska Panhandle
The Nebraska Panhandle's snows this week keep western Nebraska hopeful for this season's crop. Snow was spotty but protected dormant wheat and packed soil around roots, aiding resistance to low temps. State reports say more snow would help moisture as frost thaws. Topsoil moisture is adequate, with livestock conditions favorable and mixed feed hay and grain supplies across counties.
