Record of a 65 Degree Temperature Drop in 15 Hours
A dramatic cold front swept into western Nebraska from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday, dropping readings from 64 to 39 and then to minus 1 at the FAA station in Sidney. The storm produced light snow and up to 90 mph winds around Boulder and Ft. Collins, with property damage reported and mild impacts on travel and stock, while Sidney downtown stayed just above freezing.

Harold Langley Injured In Truck Train Crash East Of Grand Island
Harold Langley, 40, of Sidney, suffered two cuts on his nose when his semi trailer mixed with a Burlington freight train two miles east of Grand Island. Twelve derailed cars, main line damage, and cargo status unclear. Rail officials expected a 10 to 12 hour service restoration and next passenger train on schedule. Potter Lions names Dewey Larson deputy marshal
The Potter Lions Club selected Dewey Larson as Centennial deputy marshal to assist Centennial Fair Celebration Marshal W. W. Schulz with aides from Cheyenne County communities. Sioux Personnel Man To Vietnam
Benjamin C. Purcell a civilian personnel staff member at Sioux Army Depot will leave Friday for Vietnam for 90 days of duty in a similar role. Lt Col Cyril P Williams says it is to provide needed civilian help. Purcell arrived at Sioux in December 1965. his wife will not accompany him.
