Seven Month Old Smothered by Quilt Tragedy in Trail City
Delbert Wheeler Jr., seven months old, died in his Trail City home when a corner of an adult quilt folded over his head while asleep. Dr. J. H. Grimm timed the death around 7 am as the mother woke at 6 am to give medicine for a chest cold. The infant, born July 18, 1954 in Sidney, lay on a Davenport. funeral arrangements were pending at Gehrig & Son Funeral Home.

Sidney Oilman Injured in Rig Accident
A 28 year old Sidney oil worker was seriously injured when an A frame from a drilling rig struck him while dismantling a rig in Banner County about 30 miles northwest of Potter. He was taken to Taylor Hospital in Sidney in good condition with chest injuries but no lung collapse or internal bleeding. Harris is an employee of Coulston Drilling Co. of Denver.

John Henzl 54 of Lodgepole died in a 12:05 a.m. crash on U S 30 east of Sidney when his 1954 car left a curve and struck an earth embankment. Passenger John Zoller 47 was injured. Patrolman Mel Busekist witnessed the incident as he returned from arresting Edmond Ponce de Leon of Kimball. Funeral services set for Wednesday at Gehrig & Son Funeral Home with burial in South Sunol Cemetery. Survivors include a stepmother two sisters and four brothers.
