City Business District Is Matching Building Pace
City Clerk Gordon Tobin told Rotary Club that Sidney’s business district has kept pace with growth. Since 1948, seventy new business structures were built at a cost around two million dollars, and over one hundred new business and professional offices opened in seven years. With about five hundred new homes, the ratio of business structures to residences is roughly seven to one, a balance Tobin calls fairly desirable. He noted growth occurred mainly in new structures while basic businesses remained steady.
