Prominent Oil Dealer at Kimball Dies at 52
Frank E. Genereux 52, a well known Kimball oil dealer, died Sunday at home after a brief illness. He had worked in the Kimball oil business for 17 years and was well known in Sidney and other Cheyenne County towns. Survivors include his wife and three children.

Irrigation School Planned For Sidney
Sidney plans an eight week evening class for farmers interested in irrigation farming. Supt Liebendorfer and J W Nielsen completed plans. The program will cover irrigation principles, wells, equipment, costs, power units, cropping practices, and will meet two nights weekly at Sidney High School. All Cheyenne county farmers may attend. The first meeting is set for Tuesday February 15.

Three Men Injured In Crash at Town Edge
An early Monday morning automobile collision at the east edge of town injured three men. John Ahlm, a county highway department employee, suffered a fractured leg and other injuries when his car and a machine driven by George Greenwood, Bay Petroleum company manager, collided. Bob McGee, a passenger in Greenwood's car, was also hurt. Greenwood was driving west and Ahlm east when Ahlm allegedly swerved into Greenwood's path near Wal-Burdance Hall. The crash was nearly head on. All three received preliminary treatment and were taken to their homes. Ahlm's leg later cast. Greenwood and McGee sustained chest injuries and severe cuts. Authorities believed the accident was unavoidable and not the fault of either driver.

Law Takes Loaded Gas Transports Off Roads Sunday
A new state law bans oil trucks carrying over 900 gallons of petrol eum or petroleum products from all highways between 6 am and midnight on Sundays and on Independence Day Labor Day. Empty trucks may move. Ports of entry, 32 in the state, aim to curb smuggling that cost the public over $100,000 yearly. Jurgensen Found Guilty Of Embezzlement In Lincoln
Lieut. Gov. Walter H. Jurgensen was convicted in district court at Lincoln of embezzling 549.71 dollars from Chester Kaderli, with the state charging a total 916 dollars in a building and loan stock deal. The jury deliberated about 17 hours. the judge left the exact amount to determine felony guilt. If under 35 dollars, it would have been a misdemeanor. Convicted felon faces one to seven years. Defense asked for mistrial over alleged jury tampering, which was denied.

Wilson Freight-Like Admits Overloading
Wilson Freight lines and Willard F. Wilson were charged with overloading in a county court complaint filed Wednesday. State patrolmen said Wilson carried five tons of potatoes on a two and a half ton permit. Wilson pleaded guilty before County Judge Robert A. Barlow, was fined ten dollars and costs, and reduced his load to the permitted limit without buying new permits.

Sidney Car Figures In Accident Monday
Darwin G. Ballmess and Roma Cornwell of Sterling sustained slight injuries Monday evening when Ballmess’s car collided with J. E. Daniels of Sidney on highway 113 nine and a half miles north of the junction with highway 138. W. H. Oldfield, patrolman, reported the cars met as Ballmess dimmed his lights and they went out. Daniels tried to avoid the crash but lights flashed again. Ballmess’s car overturned in a bar pit, damaging the top and breaking glass.
