Gering Bulldogs defeated Sidney 36 12 as Sidney battled flu absence and close losses at 138 and heavyweight. Tom Johnson fell 2-1 to Kelly Sandberg, Gary Herman lost 6-0 after a late takedown bid, while Brent Correll, Phil Childers, Jay Noble, George Armstrong, Brian Childers and John Taylor collected wins for the Raiders. Mustangs split two road contests against intrastate foes
Western Nebraska Technical College Mustangs went 1-1 on road games against Hastings Tech and Milford. They led Hastings late before fouling trouble, with Ellis Purifoy fouling out and three others fouling out as the team finished with four players in the final minutes. Milford game featured hot shooting from Jon Marchant and Purifoy with balanced scoring, lifting WNTC to a 77-75 win. The club sits 11-8 and travels to Denver for three games.
