Clayton S. Radcliffe 75 a native western Nebraskan and longtime Sidney attorney died Sunday at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Radcliffe home with Rev. Max Kors officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sidney men and J. K. Mahr of Denver. honorary pallbearers are Sidney Bar Association members. Memorials to Christ Episcopal Church or Cheyenne County Historical Assn. He was born March 16, 1889 in Ogallala and educated in Sidney. a former Cheyenne County attorney and longtime Democrat, he hosted President Roosevelt in the 1930s and remained active in politics and frontier history. Surviving: wife Myrna, two daughters, a sister and six grandchildren.

A wet snow fell Saturday into Sunday with about one and a half inches measured in most counties and moisture around .12. Winds reached 40 mph, then eased. Temperatures dropped below freezing Sunday with a 9 to 39 degree range. Observers recorded similar snowfall in Sidney and Lodgepole. The snow’s staying power was praised as highly beneficial for morale.

Charles August Cook 95 died Saturday evening at Memorial Rest Home in Sidney after a 13 day stay. Services Thursday at 2 pm at the First Methodist Church with Rev. John Stayton officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Born August 28 1869 in Falls City Nebraska to William and Margaret Cook. Married Bertha Damon September 24 1899 in Fall City. Lived in Falls City until 1917 then moved to Sidney, farmed near Lorenzo until 1944. Later lived in Longmont Colorado 1950 to 1961, then returned to Sidney. Survived by three children William O. Saskatoon Canada Charles L. Sidney and Marie Crosswhite West Covina California, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Craig Mortuary in charge.
