Hagemeister Appointed To Normal Board
Bruce Hagemeister of Hemingford, a Potter family member and former Sidney resident, is named to the Board of Education for State Normal Schools by Gov. Victor Anderson. He will replace Ern est Johnson whose appointment was rejected by the Unicam eral. Hagemeister, a Hemingford grain elevator operator and 1927 Potter High School graduate, served as a Navy radar man in World War II and holds multiple agricultural and civic posts.

A past commanders dinner for 13 former heads of Sidney VFW Post 610 is set for Tuesday at Yendis Cafe. Bob DeVoe of North Platte will speak, a film on the VFW National Children's Home in Eaton Rapids will be shown, and a dedication plaque for past commanders will be unveiled in the post home. The Wyoming State Department of Agriculture imposed a quarantine on noxious weed seed entering via livestock feed shipments. Effective Tuesday, all hay and feed into Wyoming will be inspected for 16 weed types to curb recent pests from other states.

Chadron State College extension division plans to offer two courses in Sidney the first time in its history. Adult Education Classes Halted At Sidney Schools
Lack of unified interest nearly ends Sidney public schools adult education program for the semester. Principal A. E. Nimtz says only a vocational agriculture class may run next fall, as 40 people showed interest but no class drew more than five students. Ten students are needed to form a class.

Wheat Meet Farm Controls Draw Western Nebraska Farmers
Cheyenne County farmers joined Western Nebraskans at the National Association of Wheat Growers meeting in Amarillo Texas. Funeral services for William Frederick Keller 68, longtime NYC Railroad official, were held at Gehrig and Son Mortuary in Ypsilanti with a 10 a.m. service and burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Keller, born February 19, 1887 in Massillon Ohio, died January 30 in Ypsilanti and was active in the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks. He resided in Detroit and later Ypsilanti, leaving a wife Charlotte and a family including daughter Mrs Dorwart and son Raymond L. with sisters and brothers listed among survivors. Rosary and requiem were conducted at local churches in Ypsilanti.

Heywood Rites Are Tomorrow
Funeral services for Claude Morris Heywood 68 who died yesterday at a local hospital will be held at the Methodist Church tomorrow at 2 p.m. Gehrig and Son Mortuary handles arrangements with Rev. Robert Townsend officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. He was born March 16 1887 in Gordon Nebraska and lived in Nebraska his life then moved to Sidney five years ago to work as a carpenter at the Sioux Ordnance Depot. He married Lillian Bateman in Rushville in 1909 and Lucille Zillingzee in 1923. both preceded him in death. Surviving are children Ruth C Heywood William R Heywood Catherine Levene and Alice Wymer. Also three sisters Fay Heywood Fern Eyerly Martha Hummel and one brother Steve.

Linda Seidel five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Freder ick P Seidel of Sidney was struck by a car on Toledo Street in the 1200 block yesterday afternoon. Driver Mrs Glad ys West 52 of Sidney said the child darted into the street after leaping over a snow bank. Linda was not hospitalized but X rays were planned for today.

The two night talent show at Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital raised 1637.50 for the hospital fund, boosting the drive over 27000 with a total now 27001.89. Capacity crowds attended Tuesday and Wednesday, with a goal of 75000 and a possible loan if unmet. Hospital Administrator Frank Harris reported progress and noted 90 percent of equipment and furnishings will arrive by month end in Sidney.
