Introduced twenty years ago in Philadelphia it now ranks just behind vanilla and chocolate with Oregon cherries for brightness. Pre-packaged in pints and half gallons, sold in self-service grocery and drug stores, outselling bulk as the leading purchase point. Heart shaped cookies with pink frosting complement the dish for Valentine menus.
