August Thies 28 Dies After Illness In Memorial Hospital
August Thies 28 of Potter Neb died early Saturday at Memorial Hospital after a ten day illness. He was born May 17 1904 at Wayne Neb and lived in several counties before moving to Potter in 1921. Funeral Wednesday Jan 2 at 2 pm Potter Methodist Church with Rev Erwin A Kiel officiating. Burial in Potter Cemetery. He married Vivian Hibbard Jan 19 1925. Survivors include wife four sons two daughters 16 grandchildren one brother and three sisters.

Three Ontario Men Held in Cheyenne County Auto Theft Case
Three Ontario California men were arrested in Ogallala with a stolen 1956 Chevrolet owned by Jack Love land of Sterling Colorado. Brock bank 17 Harmon 22 and McNeal 24 faced auto theft charges in Cheyenne County Jail. Brock bank and Harmon pled not guilty. McNeal to be arraigned today. The trio planned to hitchhike to Kansas City for work and used a faulty ignition switch to start the car.
