Ten year old LaDonna Smith daughter of Mr and Mrs Don Simith 2244 Maple was injured Saturday afternoon when struck by a car at 10th and Illinois She was taken to Memorial Hospital and released Sunday after treatment for painful cuts Sidney Police said the accident happened at 2 16 pm as she crossed Illinois from north to south and collided with a car driven by Mike Maher making a right turn from 10th onto Illinois Police also reported a separate Monday night crash at 1145 Country Club drive a 1953 Chevrolet driven east by Michael Morris skidded on ice and struck a parked 1963 Pontiac owned by Mr and Mrs Don Hart Damages were estimated at 100 on the Morris car and 180 to the Pontiac He noted icy streets but said snowfall may have made drivers more careful

Potter man survives Frontier crash in Grand Island fog
Ray Davis of Potter described a 44 passenger Convair crash near Grand Island on approach in dense fog. He escaped with bruises and helped others free as the plane skidded 400 feet and rolled onto its back. Passengers were treated at Grand Island hospitals and many were housed in a hotel overnight.
