Nebraska agricultural statistics show 1952 farm production estimated at 80.9 million dollars, up 233.32 million from 1951. The rise stemmed from a strong corn crop totaling 261.96 million bushels valued at 406.04 million and a 97.695 million bushel wheat crop valued at 205.16 million, compared with 1951 figures.

Trucks Collide On Highway Near Peetz
Colorado State Patrol reports two large trucks sideswiped one and a half miles south of Peetz on Colo 113 late Sunday night. Harvey A. Hays 26 of Sidney drove a Schlumberger Well Surveying Corp truck with $6 000 to $9 000 damage, Franklin Perez 23 of Sterling drove a Bomud Co truck with $275 damage. No injuries were reported.

Bliss DeWood Back In Jail in Cheyenne County
Bliss DeWood, 31, returned to Cheyenne County jail on charges of writing bad checks. He was picked up in a Sterling Colorado tavern by Sheriff W. W. Schilz after allegedly writing one check at Duis Studio and possibly others at Couch Hotel and Brownson Tavern. Police reported DeWood threatened self harm and Sterling officers found a vial labeled strychnine. He pleaded guilty by reason of insanity before County Judge Robert A. Barlow. the plea was noted as not supported by the statute.

Two Polio Patients Released From Cheyenne County Hospital
In Cheyenne County 1952 polio victims Johnny Motes and Janice Griffiths were released from Scotts Bluff hospital for weekends at home and must return weekly for treatment. The Motes child was stricken on August 2 and both families are relieved by the arrangement.
