Sidney men named in $112,000 suit over depot lease
Four Sidney men led by P. J. Heaton Sr are named in a federal complaint filed in Omaha alleging breach of a lease covering 16 thousand acres within Sioux Ordnance Depot. The government claims $112,000 in damages for missed crested wheat grass maturity and weed clearance, while defense says production was impossible due to jack rabbits and weather. The Heaton group contends they fulfilled every contract provision and denies any debt to the government.

Trucker Loses Toe in Well Site Mishap
Virgil Huston, 3, a truck driver for Rogers Truck Lines, was seriously injured Monday when a piece of a drilling rig being loaded fell on his left foot at Banner Drilling Co.'s Johnson lease southwest of Gurley. He was taken to Memorial Hospital where one toe was amputated and two other toes treated for fractures. His condition is listed as satisfactory.

Cheyenne citizens bought 72401 dollars worth of E and H Savings Bounds in November, lifting the county’s eleven month total to 1006951 dollars or 103.9 percent of the 1958 quota. Council May Up Occupation Tax For Some Firms
Sidney City Council met briefly to discuss overhauling occupation tax ordinances affecting bottle clubs and utilities to boost revenue and tighten control. Dick Peetz of the Past Time Club was told he would be informed of any changes after a liquor violation earlier this month. Jess Allen of Dalton Gas Co asked to place a liquefied petroleum bulk plant in west Sidney and was asked to file a building application. The council approved three building projects: a $650 neon sign for the Charm Shop, a $275 neon sign for the Arlo Jones Agency, and a $650 interior remodeling for L. C.
