Christmas Brighter As Charities Active
The Kings Daughters will spread happiness to at least forty homes this Christmas with baskets for the needy and shut-ins. They expect to distribute fifteen food baskets to families, with other baskets for shut-ins or the aged. Charles S. Anderson Dies Pioneer Farmer in Cheyenne County
Charles S. Anderson 72, born Sidney December 15, 1874, died Sunday night in a Sterling Colorado hospital after five days of illness. A Padroni resident since retirement, he was among Cheyenne County’s first white children, married to Effie Yoakum in Kimball on June 10, 1903, and an early irrigator in Lodgepole Valley. Funeral plans await relatives’ word. service will be held in Sidney with burial in the family plot there. Arrangements by The Gehrig Funeral Home.

Injured Girl Gaining After 2 Operations
Five year old Sandra Dillabough, whose parents were killed in an auto accident east of Sidney last Tuesday, is recovering after two delicate brain operations in Denver. She was airlifted to Denver with skull and jaw injuries, while her parents’ bodies were sent to St Catharines, Ontario for burial. Authorities have limited information on relatives, aside from a Dillabough sister on the west coast.

Wrecks Leave One Injured As Cars Damaged
A 1946 Buick belonging to W E Gehrig overturned on highway No 30 three miles west of town. Driver Bud Gehrig and Melvin McCoy escaped serious injury as the car burned prevented by a passing truck. In a separate crash Friday noon Don Sherwood suffered severe scalp lacerations after his car collided on the north side, overturning and causing heavy damage. Arthur Neel, the other driver, was unhurt at 17th and Forrest.
