Two oat varieties Mindo and Cherokee have been added to Nebraska certification lists. Mindo, from Minnesota AE Station, excels in northeastern Nebraska with early maturity, high test weight, strong straw, and disease resistance. Cherokee, a Nemaha counterpart, heads earlier than Clinton and resists Victoria blight and common smut races, with good eastern Nebraska yields. Seed certification and sourcing details provided by the Nebraska Crop Improvement Association.
