Mrs Joseph Oberfelder Dies In Denver After Sidney Life
Mrs. Joseph Oberfelder, long a Sidney resident and noted community figure, died last Sunday at St. Joseph's hospital in Denver after months of treatment. Born in New York City, she moved to Sidney about forty years ago and left behind a large family including Blanche Lawrence of Denver and Leona Oberfelder, with many friends who recall her charitable acts and devotion to home and church. Burial was in Fairmount cemetery, near Denver, after a Jewish funeral led by Doctor Friedman, with a large display of flowers and a musical tribute by Theresa MacDonald from Denver.

Death of South Divide youth after accidental gun discharge
Edward Brauer, oldest son of Mr and Mrs Herman Brauer, died after an accidental shotgun discharge while hunting rabbits near Sidney. He was born January 20, 1891 in Malcolm Nebraska and lived with his family in Cheyenne County. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church with many relatives present.
