Economist forecasts brighter year for farmers in 1966
Michael S. Turner, University of Nebraska Extension economist, says 1966 could surpass 1965 for American farmers due to favorable livestock prices, new farm legislation, and expanding markets. He cites record 1965 farm income, rising per capita disposable income, and a USDA projection of 1966 exports near 6.2 billion dollars, with commercial exports up to 4.6 billion and farm goods sales driving gains amid strong foreign demand. Hull figure echoes elsewhere as Bob Cousy praises Bobby Hull’s size.
