Lincoln milk output may rise despite fewer cows in 1963
Fred Olson of the University of Nebraska Extension notes 1963 milk production may grow due to higher output per cow, offsetting some decline in milk cow numbers. Dairy consumption in 1962 is expected higher than 1961 as butter cheese and non fat dry milk move from USDA stocks to welfare and school lunch programs. Prices in 1963 should stay near the level seen in late 1962.
