Cheyenne County farmers sign up 49.3 percent for the 1963 diversion program to reduce wheat planted. The deadline is passed and 28 003 acres will be diverted with around 817 000 dollars in future payments. Diversion aims to cut national wheat surplus.
Peacetime veterans may receive one time dental treatment if a service connected condition existed at discharge and they apply within one year. Accidental injuries incurred in duty exempt from the one year limit. Applications before August 14 1962 are invalid. VA Lincoln office offers help with applications.
The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committee and the Soil Conservation Service will relocate to a new building on South 1st Ave this Thursday. The offices have occupied 935-937 8th Avenue for years, with a grand opening slated for January.
Alliance Nebraska cattle sale shows 2430 head sold with most cattle from Western states and a 737 head yearling steer lot from Scudder Grain and Cattle Co of Dalton. Dal ton Hereford steers weighing 673 to 876 sold 26.60 to 27.25 per cwt with loads to Minnesota. Joe Policky bought 481 lb steer and 423 lb heifer calves at 33.10 and 31.10 respectively.
