Sidney firms are asked to help raise at least 10000 for the Sidney High School Band journey to the President's inaugural parade January 21. Youth Brushed By Car At Busy Sidney Intersection

A seven year old boy was bruised after walking into or being struck by a slow moving car at the 13th Ave and Illinois St crossing. The incident involved Albert Shefncer, 35, of Sidney. The boy received treatment at a local doctor’s office.

Courthouse Set To Close Monday For Christmas Break

The Cheyenne County Courthouse will be closed all day Monday December 24 to observe the Christmas holiday and grant employees a longer vacation. A decision on additional closure Monday December 31 has not yet been made.

Ex Convict Caught After Stolen Car Recovered Near Bridgeport

Safety Patrolman Esley Kotschwar stopped a drunk who had been found in a stolen car about 14 miles south of Bridgeport. The 22-year-old Minnesota man admitted stealing the vehicle hours earlier from Mitchell resident Tom Marinato. He is jailed in Scotts Bluff County awaiting arraignment on a stolen car charge.
