Alliance District Music Meet Named Top Contest
Alliance won the district high school music contest at the N H S A A delegate assembly in Lincoln last weekend. Principal M R Colson attended. The event, April 21 and 22, will draw over a thousand musicians from western Nebraska, ending with a massed band and massed orchestra concert likely on the high school athletic field if weather cooperates.

Minatare Receives Go Signal for New Plant
Minatare moves forward with a proposed 40000 dollar electrical distribution system. Mayor W C Colson says bonds will be offered for sale immediately and work will likely start after the new year. The go ahead comes via a letter from C A Sorensen of Lincoln, city attorney, in an injunction suit by Western Public Service Co. The utility lease on the current system runs to 1945. Sorensen was told by the U S circuit court of appeals at St Louis that the court denied Western Public Service Co a hearing in the injunction case.

Sidney Man's Mother Dies During Visit to Sidney
Mrs. Mable I. King 63 mother of Willis T. King of Sidney died in a local hospital Monday after years of declining health. Born in 1881 in Custer county, she lived in Broken Bow and visited Sidney ten days before her death. Survived by husband Silas F. King two sons J. G. King Broken Bow and E. P. Milder Weather Spreads Across Nebraska After Cold Spell
